Effective but SAFE spot lightening.

There are many causes that lead to unsightly spots on the face. Acne, sun exposure, aging, skin allergies hormonal imbalances, pregancy etc. These lead to areas of hyperpigmentation that appear as dark patches or spots.
Now, to remove them:

1- Get to the root of the problem: depending on the cause.  Acne for example is to be treated so that skin heals totally and ur left with only dark marks to deal with. Other skin problems really need a dermatologist.

2- Spot removal..
There is a variety of approaches in order to lighten dark areas. The basic goal is to reduce melanin production and/or distribution in the epidermis..
Many skin lighteneing ingredients exist but not all are safe and have a disastrous effect on your skin (accelerating skin aging) and on your overall health.
So, what are the safe ingredients to look for?

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid, magnesium ascorbyl sulfate)
alpha arbutin
glutathione
kojic acid
mulberry leaf extract
vitamin B3 (niacinamide)
licorice extract (glabridin)
azelaic acid
retinoic acid
papaya extract (papain) esp. green papaya
soy protein extract

These are the popular choices. There are also other plant based skin whitening extracts. These are usually ombined with alpha hydroxy acids (fruit acids) like glycolic acid, lactic acid, malic acid, etc to enhance skin turnover and thereby improving tone and glow.

They are found in the form of  soaps, lotions and toners. Combining all 3 gives faster and better results.
I have just listed the ingredients but check out more info about safe whitening ingredients

Happy shopping!
